Bio:
Tracey Hughes began her career as a hairdresser in the UK before moving to Australia, where she founded Mieka Hairdressing, a prestigious salon brand that won Salon of After selling her business and serving on the Board of Directors for an industry consolidation, she relocated to the USA as Global Education Director, later becoming Vice President of Global Education.
During this time, she founded Leading Ladies, a nonprofit of empowering individuals committed to giving back to the community. Upon returning to Australia, Tracey took on the role as General Manager for a haircare company and later GM of the largest franchise in the Southern Hemisphere.
Along the way, she has faced significant personal challenges, including epilepsy, unsuccessful IVF, and devastating financial loss. From hairstylist to entrepreneur to corporate leader, Tracey’s journey has been one of resilience and today, she is an internationally recognised professional speaker and inspirational mentor.
Tracey’s commitment to the hairdressing industry was recognized when in 2018 she was inducted into the Hall of Fame by the Australian Hair Industry Awards.
